Information we collect, and how it’s shared

The information we collect is primarily content you choose to give us by interacting with our service. Below is a list of all the information we collect, and how it is shared.


Your account and profile

When you create an account, we collect information such as your name, email and profile photo. Your name and profile photo are part of your public profile, and may be shared with all users of Hopp, and the public at large.


Content you create or share

We collect information such as photos and videos you share, such as when you post content from an experience. We share this information with all users of Hopp, and the public at large.


Experiences you interact with

We collect information about experiences you go to, such as when you’re at a concert. This information is shared with other users nearby so you can connect with them more easily.


Device and usage information

With your permission, we access device services which are necessary to use our services. This includes precise location data, notifications, camera, and microphone. We may also collect information about the devices you use to access our services, such as the hardware model, operating system, language, unique device identifiers, unique application identifiers, wireless network and mobile network information.


Sharing information with third-parties

We may share information with entities that perform services on our behalf, for example we may share information with an analytics provider. We may also share any or all of the above listed information with entities for legal reasons if we reasonably believe that disclosing information is needed to comply with any valid legal process, law, or regulation.

If Hopp is involved in a merger or acquisition (in full or in part), we may share information with the other companies or entities involved.


How We Use Information

We do not profile or target our users. We continually improve the experience of our products, and use information for the following purposes:

• Develop, deliver, operate, improve, and protect our products and services.

• Ensure and enhance safety and security of our products, service, and users.

• Monitor and analyze usage and trends.

• Communicate with you.

• Enforce our Terms of Service and other policies.


Control over your information

We strive to let you access and update most of the personal information that we have about you. There are limits though to the requests we’ll accommodate. We may reject a request for a number of reasons, including, for example, that the request risks the privacy of other users, requires technical efforts that are disproportionate to the request, is repetitive, or is unlawful. You may access and update basic information about your account by going to your profile in the app.

You may revoke permissions, such as for your location data or camera, through your device settings. By doing that, you may be unable to use some of the features. If you would like to have your account deleted, let us know at help@hopp.io. Your account and all data associated with it will be deleted within 30 days of your request.

Children

Our service is not intended for anyone under 16 years old. We do not direct our services to those under 16 years old, and do not knowingly collect any personal information from or about them.


Revisions to the Privacy Policy

We may make changes to this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do update the Privacy Policy, we will revise the date at the very beginning of the policy which is accessible through the app. We may notify you of changes to this Privacy Policy via email, or through an in-app notification.
